About Atacama Desert

The Atacama Desert spans 1,000km of parched wasteland in the very north of Chile. The beauty of this area is truly otherworldly, with salt pan expanses, volcanoes and hot springs just some of the dramatic natural wonders to be discovered in the driest desert on Earth. A couple of remarkable lodges have opened up recently in the area, offering the traveller a unique opportunity to discover this fascinating scenery and be blown away by the unsurpassable stargazing opportunities.

The best time to go to the Atacama desert is anytime from September to March. Please note that December - February will be more crowded than other times and accommodation / flight prices will be higher.
