About Bangkok

A noisy, bustling city that truly never stops. Bangkok is also a melting pot of wonderful food, interesting culture and exciting shopping. These days the city is surprisingly easy to navigate - entirely due to the Sky Train, which makes traversing the city so much quicker than in the past. In terms of activities in the capital city, the infamous ‘floating market’ is still an interesting excursion (beware of the snake show - the snakes try their hardest to escape their capturers), and Chatuchak Weekend Market is a shoppers paradise. Make sure to dedicate a full day to this sprawling mecca. For culture vultures, the reclining buddha is worth a visit, as is the Wat Arun temple. Another favourite is the house of silk maestro David Thompson. Check out our Insider Guide to Bangkok for further information.
