About Chilean Lake District

Chile’s Lake District lies around an hour’s flight south of Santiago and is without doubt one of the most visually beautiful areas in Chile. Pale green lakes are shadowed by snow capped volcanoes, and endless miles of ancient forest provide a sanctuary for a huge variety of fascinating wildlife. Similar to the South Island of New Zealand, Chile’s Lake District is a veritable paradise for adventure seekers, and the activities on offer are seemingly endless. Hiking, white water rafting, horse riding, fly-fishing and kayaking are just some of the activities to be discovered here.

June to September is the best time to visit for winter activities. October to May ideal for more temperate weather activities such as fishing and hiking.
