About Chilean Patagonia

Patagonia starts in the Araucanía region of Chile and extends down to the extreme southern tip of the country. This huge expanse of pristine wilderness contains a magnitude of natural beauty - from mountains, fjords, glaciers forests and steppes, to the incredible animal life in its oceans including dolphins, penguins and killer whales.

The ideal time to discover this magnificent region is between November and March (summer). Although it will undoubtedly be crowded at this time of the year, the weather is ideal for exploring Torres del Paine National Park and Tierra del Fuego. It would also be worth considering April or October for travel to this region, when the weather is still quite mild but the crowds are significantly reduced.

December to March is the ideal time to visit Patagonia. Avoid going from June to September as some of the mountain passes will be closed.
