The island of Lombok sits to the east of Bali and is considered by most to be Bali’s more authentic little sister. Culturally, the two islands are quite different - Lombok is muslim whereas Bali is predominantly Hindhu. Lombok, as a result, is far more conservative than Bali, and this can be felt throughout in the customs and traditions on the island. Lombok is also remains far less developed in comparison to Bali, with none of the traffic jams that Bali has become known for, and the
ensuing peace is what brings visitors back to this fascinating island.
