About Siem Reap

With a history dating back as far as 802AD, Siem Reap is a fascinating destination that entices over a million visitors every year. The jaw dropping temples of Angkor are undoubtedly the main attraction, but certainly not the only one. The Angkor National Museum is worth a visit, as its rich collection of historical evidence helps visitors contextualise the story of Angkor and the Khmer empire before exploring the temples. Siem Reap itself is rapidly becoming an epicentre of hipster chic, with fantastic food and a buzzing nightlife, and has seen the opening of several phenomenal new boutique hotels over the last few years. We particularly love the magical Phum Baitang - Angelina Jolie’s Cambodian home while filming Lara Croft Tomb Raider. Outside of town, the countryside is surprisingly beautiful, and is best observed from the basket of a hot air balloon!
