About The Philippines
The Philippines is made up of 7,107 islands which lie in southeast Asia, with the South China Sea on the western side of the country and the Pacific Ocean on the east. It was once colonised by America and had its independence returned in 1946, after the second world war, which it fought side-by-side with the Americans. The islands of the Philippines are renowned for their underwater beauty, relaxed vibe and wonderfully hospitable locals. A number of fabulous private island resorts have opened up over the years, providing a Southeast Asian version of the Maldives to those looking for an indulgent escape.
